Aardvark Papers was published by David Faggioli when he was a college student at the University of Utah. Faggioli, a music major at the university, did not contribute artwork to either issue, but he put up the money to have them printed. Most of the contributors to the books were also Utah college students, though artists Al Davoren and Rob Brown were not. Davoren was the art director for the outstanding Promethean Enterprises fanzine/magazine from 1969 to '74, for which Brown also contributed several pages of art.

This newsprint tabloid is presented like a portfolio for some of the artists, featuring one-page illustrations that are more like fine art pen-and-ink illustrations than cartoons. But it also features comic strips that are mostly of fanzine quality; not surprising given the college age of most of the contributors. Aardvark Papers may not win any "best of" awards, but it's a fine little publication with some solid work. I do wish they had chosen one of the interior illustrations for the front cover art rather than Pat Eddington's work, but that's just me carping.

David Faggioli printed approximately 2,000 copies of this comic book. It has not been reprinted.
