Cosmic Circus #1 declares on its front cover that it provides "Mind Food," which includes entertainment, art, poetry, sex, enlightenment, violence, love, popcorn, and clowns. And like a circus, the indicia of Cosmic Circus #1 divides the magazine between "Act One, "Intermission" and "Act Two," which are formally introduced on subsequent pages.

The "first act" features writing and doodlings from editor Rey King. The "intermission" consists of poetry and comics from King, Lou Silva, Will Clipson and John Poet, followed by the "second act" with a variety of poetry and illustrations from various contributors, including a seven-page contribution from Silva.

Cosmic Circus #1 is a unique magazine that sets the stage for future issues of Rey King's peculiar blend of art, poetry and comics.

Regg King printed approximately 1,000 copies of this comic book. It has not been reprinted.
