"The Day Before the Be In" is a quintessential Harvey Pekar story about living in a marriage that is comfortable yet riddled with minor tension, which eventually takes its toll on both parties. The rest of the comic is filled with decent stories about various intellectuals, musicians and common folk that populate Harvey's life in the early '80s.
