After a six-year
hiatus, the Mr. Natural comic book series resumes
for one more issue, which compiles weekly strips that originally
appeared in New York's Village Voice. The nature of
serialization slightly alters the storytelling dynamic, but the third issue is still a
terrific read.
In the second half of the book, Mr.
Natural eschews clothing altogether and wants to open a commune, but he gets derailed
by Flakey Floont and Ruth Schwartz, who have him committed to a mental
institution!
HISTORICAL FOOTNOTES:
There are ten known printings of this comic book, all published by Kitchen Sink Enterprises. The first four printings have a $1.00 cover price. The 1st printing (30,000 copies) does not identify which printing it is in the indicia on the inside front cover, but the 2nd through 10th printings do. However, both the 5th and 6th printings state they are the 5th printing. They can be distinguished by the cover price ($1.25 for the 5th, $1.50 for the 6th), The 2nd through 6th were all 5,000 copies, except the 4th printing (which was 10,000 copies).

It is unknown how many copies were printed for the 7th through 10th printings, but it seems likely to be 5,000 copies each.
The 7th and 8th printings have a $1.50 cover price. The 9th printing has a $2.95 cover price. The 10th printing has a $3.50 cover price.
