Another Top Twenty Underground Covers award-winning front cover from Ed Watson graces the second issue of California Comics. This wraparound cover is particularly iconic of the hallucinogenic, erotic aspirations of the underground comic book era. The comic itself starts
off with a juicy Lovetree story followed by a satisfying take on "The
Sorcerer's Apprentice."
Bill Loudin and Bob Sidebottom begin an ambitious
underground publishing history, titled "Comixography,
The Comix Index" at the end
of the book, with section A to C. Their laudable effort earns this
issue (and #3) an extra star for "Historical Bonus."
